1. Introduction

These terms and conditions govern your use of the services provided by Expert Automotive Services ("we", "our", "us"). By using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions in full. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, you must not use our services.

We reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time, and your continued use of our services following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

2. Service Booking and Appointments

2.1 When booking a service, you agree to provide accurate and complete information about your vehicle and the services required.

2.2 Appointments are subject to availability. We will endeavor to accommodate your preferred date and time, but this cannot always be guaranteed.

2.3 If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we request a minimum of 24 hours' notice. Failure to provide adequate notice may result in a cancellation fee equivalent to 25% of the booked service cost.

2.4 We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to staff illness, equipment failure, or extreme weather conditions. We will make every effort to notify you as soon as possible in such cases.

3. Vehicle Services and Repairs

3.1 We will provide a written quotation for all services and repairs before commencing work, unless you have authorized us to proceed without a quotation.

3.2 If additional work is required that was not included in the original quotation, we will seek your approval before proceeding with such work.

3.3 All quoted prices include parts, labor, and VAT unless otherwise stated.

3.4 We use quality replacement parts that meet or exceed manufacturer specifications. Where appropriate, we may use original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts or quality aftermarket parts, depending on availability and customer preference.

3.5 We reserve the right to refuse service if we believe the requested work would render the vehicle unsafe or not roadworthy.

4. MOT Testing

4.1 Our MOT testing is conducted in accordance with the current DVSA guidelines and regulations.

4.2 If your vehicle fails the MOT test, we will provide a detailed report of the reasons for failure and a quotation for the necessary repairs.

4.3 You are under no obligation to have repair work carried out by us following a failed MOT test.

4.4 If repairs are completed within 10 working days of the initial test, you are entitled to a free partial re-test for the failed items only.

5. Warranties and Guarantees

5.1 All repairs carried out by us come with a 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty (whichever comes first) covering both parts and labor, unless otherwise stated.

5.2 Our warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by accidents, misuse, or neglect
  • Alterations or repairs made by others
  • Damage resulting from failure to follow maintenance recommendations

5.3 To claim under warranty, you must notify us promptly of any defect and return the vehicle to our premises for inspection.

5.4 The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original customer for whom the work was performed.

6. Payment Terms

6.1 Payment is due in full upon completion of services, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in advance.

6.2 We accept payment by cash, credit/debit card, and bank transfer.

6.3 For certain services or parts orders, we may require a deposit before commencing work.

6.4 Until full payment is received, we reserve the right to retain possession of your vehicle.

6.5 If payment is not made within the agreed terms, we reserve the right to:

  • Charge interest on overdue amounts at 8% above the Bank of England base rate
  • Recover reasonable costs incurred in collecting the debt
  • Exercise a lien over your vehicle until payment is received

7. Vehicle Collection and Storage

7.1 You are expected to collect your vehicle on the agreed date upon completion of services.

7.2 If your vehicle is not collected within 7 days of the completion date, we reserve the right to charge a daily storage fee of £20.

7.3 Vehicles left uncollected for more than 30 days may be subject to disposal procedures in accordance with the law, with any costs incurred being your responsibility.

8. Customer Property

8.1 We are not responsible for personal belongings left in your vehicle. Please ensure all valuables are removed before leaving your vehicle with us.

8.2 Any parts removed from your vehicle during repairs will be disposed of unless you specifically request their return before work commences.

9. Limitation of Liability

9.1 We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services, including but not limited to loss of income, profit, or opportunity.

9.2 Our total liability to you for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

9.3 Nothing in these terms and conditions limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

10. Privacy and Data Protection

10.1 We collect and process your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

10.2 We may use your personal information to:

  • Provide and administer our services
  • Process payments
  • Communicate with you about your vehicle and services
  • Send service reminders and relevant updates
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

10.3 We will not share your personal information with third parties except as necessary to provide our services or as required by law.

10.4 You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Please contact us to exercise these rights.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

11.1 These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

11.2 Any disputes arising from these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
